As environmental considerations have become more understood Metafin has been working towards becoming much more aware of the impact that the metal finishing industry has on the environment. Some of the steps we have taken over the last few years have we believe made a positive impact on our local environment.

For example we do not use any powders that contain TGIC, lead or cadmium.

Some years ago we took a decision to phase out Trike degreasing, and within six months had removed the process from our factory. Likewise we made a decision two years ago to stop offering wet solvent spraying and dipping and again within six months had removed all these plants from our factories.

That has left us to concentrate on our two core processes (Electropaint and Powder Coating) which we believe offer the best ways to give a good environmentally friendly anti corrosion finish to metals. This forward looking approach has helped us gain certification to ISO 14001, of which we are very proud, and we believe that we are one of the first companies within our sector to have achieved this certification.
